Happy 2012 people!!
Hope you enjoyed your new year eve. I didn't do anything special but family and I had supper at 1am at our favorite 'mamak stall'. So today is a late new year for the whole household.
Opening the blog for the first day of 2012 is this haunting tune. I have yet to watch Breaking Dawn the 4th sequel to the Twilight series. I'm gonna get the DVD. Soon I hope.
So here's wishing 2012 to be the best year yet for everybody. Enjoy the song.

Belieber or not
We've decided that my son will not be going to JB's World Tour Concert here in KL bcos
1) its on a school night
2) none of his (male) friends are going
3) if he were to go; I have to chaperon him
4) that will double the already high price tickets
5) hubby will be outstation and cannot send him to the venue
6) I dont know how to get to the venue on my own (typical me)
7) I have to take half day leave from work
8) etc. etc
I can think of many, many other valid reasons on why he can't go. So to cut the story short - to compensate we brought him to watch the movie instead. The whole family went to watch Justin Bieber Never Say Never (the movie) in 3D no less. Even grandma (my mother) came along. In less than 2 hours when the movie ended, all of us (except my youngest son who fell asleep three quarter of the movie) were converted to 'Belieber'. I cant believe it, we were so fascinated by his natural talent, preseverance and determination. We were discussing about him all the way till we reached home. Even though Danish didnt say it out loud but from his look I know he's sort off saying ~ I told you so ~ to us the grown ups. LOL
I'm not sure what possesed me and hubby but as a result of that I've just confirmed two online tickets for Danish and his chaperone ~ me to watch JB My World Tour Concert in Malaysia this coming Apr 21.
Whatever happens to all the eight reasons above? I'll worry about that soon ... very soon.
I found the video below on a recent flash mobs by kids to celebrate the Bieber Fever (yup I've even learnt their lingo) here in KL. Enjoy!!

Don't Go Home by GD & Top (Big Bang)
The group Big Bang has always been one of my favourite group from South Korea. My favourite band member is G-Dragon. However this video is not from the group per se but rather 2 of the group members G-Dragon and TOP from their mini album project outside the original group. Seung ri another group member also released a mini album on his own. In addition, the group Big Bang itself has recently released a new single. Hopefully I'll be able to post their videos in other entry.
Both GD and Top are famous with their quirky sense of style and hairstyle or rather colors. But it is not so obvious in this video. Anyways their music/songs are often cute, with catchy tunes and naughty lyrics which are typically them. Enjoy.

Genie by SNSD / Girls' Generation
The next 'it' export of Korea apart from brands like LG, Samsung, Kia would probably be SNSD or also known as Girls Generation. The 9 members (only in korea where you get girl or boy band members exceed the typical 3-5 members in a band) girl group is making wave with their long legged trademarks. Their sold out concert in Bangkok saw 70% of audiences were guys. No surprises there ^_^
Other famous songs from SNSD are Run Devil Run, Oh!, Gee and this one which is my favourite Genie. I hope the video doesn't halt too much for you. If yes, just let it run and replay it again. Enjoy.

Through the Fire by Chaka Khan

Today is the first day of 2011. It started with Yasmin and Hadi engagement ceremony. It was sweet and simple and everybody had a good time, not to mention good food. Yasmin is hubby's eldest niece.
To the new engaged couple Yasmin & Hadi 'congratulation' and may this day be a start to many, many happy and meaningful occassions.
This is a beautiful song by Chaka Khan, I think it makes a good couple song too. *hint* I'm dedicating it to everyone.
Happy 2011.

Hey Soul Sister by Train
I'm enjoying this at the moment. If I hear the song on the way to the office, then half of the day colleagues will see or hear me humming the tune. Typical me. Too bad for them. But this is such a catchy tune. Enjoy!

Fly to the Sky vol. 4

I wrote about this group quite some time ago (say a year back) and the only song I knew then was Poison Ivy. I finally got hold of the album 9 days ago from Yes Asia. Needless to say that this is an old album. But I love every single tracks in it!
Still my favourite is PI so enjoy track number 4 -Poison Ivy.

When I switched the stereo this morning, this tune came on air. Oh how I love it.
It really perks up my Saturday morning. Oh I'm so stuck in 80s ^_^

Remember by Oh Hyun Ran
My interest in Korean drama started from this drama called Memories in Bali. That was three years ago. Yes, this is an old drama. I recently bumped into the drama whilst browsing the new HD channels and the haunting soundtrack came to haunt me again, like it did beforw. I love Oh Hyun Ran's vocal in this song and it match the love triangle storyline very well. The story was rather depressing actually and I hate the ending. But the song is good. Enjoy.

An everlasting love by Andy Gibb
My office is under renovation. So my team and I are cramped into this sound proof room which used to be an edit room. We will be here for the next two months or so. While everyone else is moved to another building, another 15 minutes away by car from our current location. Sometime when it is too cold we would shut the vault-like door to our room and the room would be dead silent except for our breathing. So we took turn to play whatever songs in our playlist to kill the silence. When I exhausted my 80 songs playlist, I turned to the radio and this song came up. I can't pull it off from my head ever since.
Long live the disco ^_^ Enjoy!

Thank you for the music - Amanda Seyfried
I remember singing this song with a group of friends during our pre-graduation concert. Like a pro, we were all over the place (pitch wise)lol. I like the way Amy Seyfried sang this. Enjoy.

Is this love ...
It's 0830 am. It's raining and best of all, it's a Saturrdayyy!! I already had my morning coffee and Lisa Stansfield is playing on the radio. Can't get any better than this. Bliss.
Where have I been? No where. I just didnt log into my blog that just it. I've been sleeping early on week nites or reading or sleep while trying to read. And it goes without saying that weekends are just too short. For all you know, its already Sunday evening and I have to tune myself for work the next day. But one thing for sure, time does flies.
I've been dying to visit this bookstore I just found out about but trouble with me is that I'm bad in directions. Hubby got me a GPS but the KL map is so unreliable. It said turn right ... turn right ... and you are in the middle of a bridge highway. What right turn?? You want me to slam the car over the railing is it?? So I dont trust myself even with GPS. And I hate the calculating ... calculating message. Yeah, go ahead calculate! So I'm stuck unless hubby drives me there. Maybe I can try that this afternoon. The hubby persuasion ^_^
Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary. Hubby is taking me to this Japanese restaurant where I havent been before. Well for now the menu is japanese food unless we change our preference tomorrow. So we'll see.
So you are wondering, what's my post title all about eh? Bcos for now, I'm leaving you with .... are yoy ready for this? Is This Love by Whitesnake LOL. Ooohhh this is so 80's!! But they are the bestest. Dont hate me, I'm full of love today :D Have a good weekend everyone. Ta da

You Found Me by The Fray
Image via Wikipedia
This song 'found me'. It's not new but I'm only paying attention to it now and can't seem to get over it yet. It's been playing in my mind for several days now. I hate to suffer alone so I'm sharing the misery for all to share lol. Very intriguing lyrics. Do have a listen to it and dont say I didn't warn you ^_^
I found God on the corner of 1st and Amistad
Where the West was all but won
All alone, smoking his last cigarette
I said, "Where you been?" He said, "Ask anything"
Where were you when everything was falling apart?
All my days were spent by the telephone that never rang
And all I needed was a call that never came
To the corner of 1st and Amistad
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me
But in the end everyone ends up alone
Losing her, the only one who's ever known
Who I am, who I'm not and who I wanna be
No way to know how long she will be next to me
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me!
The early morning, the city breaks
And I've been calling for years and years and years and years
And you never left me no messages
You never sent me no letters
You got some kind of nerve taking all I want!
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor, where were you? Where were you?
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me
Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded
Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late, you found me, you found me!
Why'd you have to wait to find me, to find me?

500 Days of Summer
I must confess that I watched this movie mainly bcos of Zooey Deschanel. Although I enjoyed the movie but I felt her acting is almost similar to her other films. Different roles but similar character and same acting.
My hubby fell asleep and one of my staff said the movie was boring. Okay, so many finds it not to their liking maybe bcos it is not your typical romantic comedy story. It is different nevertheless I still find it funny.
I find this scene kinda cute. Maybe bcos of the 80's song. LOL You make my dreams come true by Hall and Oates. Enjoy.

I'm going away for the next 4 days to HK. But before I do, I'm posting this beautiful song (I think originally sang by Peggy Lee) but an equally good rendition here by Nicki Parrott. I think you will enjoy it too.
Till then. Ta da.

Farewell Michael Jackson 1958/2009
I first received the text at 06:30am. Michael Jackson died. Is this some kind of a sick joke? Then the next one at 07:40am. I've got no time to check the facts. Went into the car. It was all over the radio. HitzFM Djs were receiving calls from listeners that caused me to choke with tears on my way to work. At a traffic light, I quickly grab a tissue. Gosh, I was in a mess. Memories of my first encounter with the name Michael Jackson when a cousin's family who was living in the States for 11 years came back. His 8 year old son ( my second cousin) showed me (then 12 years old) - MJ album. Who's he? I asked. My question was answered later that year when he won several Grammy awards for Beat It. Ooo.. so he's Michael Jackson.
I sang the song Ben (by MJ) at a school gathering when I was 14.
In 1996, hubby (back then boyfriend)and me went to watch Michael History Tour Concert in KL. We pushed our way to secure tickets at Hard Rock Cafe KL on weekdays bcos it's almost sold out everywhere else. I knew then, that was going to be my first and last 'live' encounter with MJ.
The office was at a sombre mood. Some in the know. While some had just heard in the elevator. I quickly switched to CNN. Everywhere around me preparation was being made by channel reps to change TV schedule for at least the next day in order to pay tribute to the King of Pop. I went into the meeting room with an exclamation remark 'Are we still gonna have this meeting? I'm mourning here! ' I meant it as a joke. And when I honestly dont have any contribution towards around the table questions my VP remarked 'I think we have to kill another Superstar next week' (just to get my mouth shut). Mean boss.
I like the song below. Hope you do too.
RIP MJ
