Girls just wanna have fun

Felt a bit dizzy this morning. I guess it’s the combination of good food or rather too much good food last nite. Had a buffet dinner with a friend who came down for her semester break from Perth. The rest of us, managed to beat the after office hours traffic and reached Dorsett Regency within the designated time. The guest of honor was already there. My appetizer were oysters. I ate total of six oysters (yummy) but not all at one go!! The restaurant was having Thai cuisine promotion. Strange but all of us missed or rather didn’t notice the absence of the must eat Thai delicacy which is Tom Yam. None of us had it. Most of the evening was spent talking, laughing and reminiscing. All five of us gals had fun. Till the waiter had to come up to tell us that it’s 1030pm and they have to pack up.

We were safely in the car when the down pour started. And it really poured. However we were lucky bcos we weren’t stuck in a jam or anything. I reached home about 1130pm.

Again I suspected I had too much to eat last nite or maybe too much sugar. So I dragged myself out of bed this morning, wore my sweat pants and went for my weekly jog/run/walk ton. Not until about 1100am that the dizziness slowly eased away.

Epilogue
Angah is still in Kuching. He’ll be back tomorrow afternoon. I was a single parent for the whole of this week. Tomorrow Danial is having his first ever Sport Day. He’s in the blue team. The venue is at the BK3 field. I have no idea where that is. Guess I have to go early tomorrow to locate the place. I am a real genius when it comes to route and such (yeah right). I need all the luck I can have to locate the field, hopefully on time.

Female Intelligence

I finished reading a book entitled the above by Jane Heller just now. The book was about a woman teaching man to talk in ‘Woman Language’. Truth be told, in the beginning I didn’t enjoy the book but it did get better towards the end. There was a part in the story where the ‘main male character’ lost his trust towards his girlfriend (the leading female) thru no fault of hers. No matter what she said or try to explain, he wouldn’t believe her. I found that really sad and I don’t know why bcos suddenly there I was crying. But of cos’ this is common to me I must say. Well so much of not reading depressing book in order not to cry. Even light and cliché lines can drive me to tears *sigh*

Well the book has it funny moments too. Like this one -when the guy was asked to buy a gift for his secretary as a practical training to express himself using the taught method aka Wyman's method. The guy said to the sales girl(with his personal coach cum Doctor cum future girlfriend observing him) "I'd like to see the sweater in a yellow. But not a screaming, school bus yellow. I'd prefer a softer, lemony yellow for my dear, tender-hearted secretary, more of a pastel shade actually. Pastel are lovely for summer, don't you agree? Especially pastel yellow. It's sort of sunshiny soul provider" (referring to Michael Bolton 'Soul Provider' song). I had to laugh. Do we women actually speaks like that? Maybe we the fairer sex are more expressive in our daily communication that we are sometimes mistakenly labelled as talking too much or worse -nagging (so much of being on attentive, hah!)

Anyways I’m happy to report that I already took out a new title from my collection of ‘yet to read’ books. Till the next book.

Dear Abah

Happy Father's Day

Especially to my father and all deserving fathers out there.

I'm so glad that my father is still around and I can wish this to him.

I love you abah with all my heart. In your own quiet way, I always know that you love me and you are very proud of me. You have always been a man of few words, but your action speaks louder. We all know that you cared deeply for each one of us. You don't know how much it means to me to know that you are proud of my achievement be it in academic, career or my current life.

Thank you for being a great and wonderful father to me and my brothers.
Thank you for being a wonderful and funny grandfather to my children.

Happy Father's Day

With love from your only daughter

The fly which flies on a plane

This happened during our flight back from Bangkok to KL. The cabin crew had just passed us the instant porridge, nasi lemak and drinks that we purchased from them when suddenly I saw it. A fly. A house fly. With a puzzled look I asked my husband 'where does this one comes from?' At the same time, busied shooing off the fly. Hubby just smiled and said 'now everybody can fly' (Air Asia tag line). Ha!Ha! I think it's very amusing.

Reading again

Hooray to me. I managed finish reading Cathy’s Kelly ‘Just Between Us’ a book which I bought last December. Meaning I still keep the promise to myself to find time to read. Truth be told the last 254 pages were read within a day (amidst tears and all). I thought I passed all those behaviors already, yet I still allowed myself to be immersed in the novel’s characters hence the crying. The earlier 380 pages took me about 3 weeks to finish (sigh).

I’m starting on a new book already.

Bangkok Experience (Part3)

Everybody wakes up early. We have to check out by 1200hr today but still there were quite a number of activities to fulfill. I made breakfast of sardine sandwich. At 0900hr, the boys and Angah headed for the pool. I was left in the room to finish packing up. At 1015hr I made my way to the pool with a book. I planned to have some foot massage. So there I was for the next one hour in bliss. The massage was so good and dozed to sleep a few times. Angah brought the kids back from the pool to the room and by the time I arrived back they were ready and eating whatever leftovers mostly fruits and biscuits from the fridge.

Except for Danish, everyone else dozed off in the taxi on our way to the airport. Spent about 45mins at the duty free shop buying some snacks to finish up baht. The detour to to all these shops had brought us to the far end of the airport wing whereas our gate was at the other end. To make matter worst, I suddenly felt hungry and don't feel like eating AirAsia's instant noodle. So I bought about 5 pieces of sushi which i finished in less than 10 minutes in front of my awed family members. None of them can comprehend my keen towards Japanese food or rather raw food. The boys went eewww..when they saw me dip the sushi into the soya sauce and purposely exaggerating my chewing to demonstrate how deliciously it is. Hi!hi!

Then the running start. We walked + ran from one end to another and reached our gate. Thought we were late but still not many people were there yet. We reached KL safely. The airport taxi's driver put the radio so loud but still all of us slept like a log until we reached home. I suspect he is somehow a bit deaf bcos he spoke very loud. Danial only woke up the next day.

So that's conclude our Bangkok trip. Thou' we faced a few hurdles here and there in terms of halal food and language, but overall it was a pleasant trip.

Must go back.

Bangkok Experience (Part2)

We reached Sampan Taksin after 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Couldn't understand which boat to take and where we actually want to go, we decided to do like the rest of the tourists, when to the booth which displayed English information and asked about their deal (according to my colleague, if you follow the tourist boat, it is slightly expensive). But it was not that expensive, further more we have the kids wt us. Took the whole day package which ends at 3:00pm whereby you can stop and hop on again the boat at any stop. Of all the 13 stops, we planned to only stop at Grand Palace.

Day was hot, so the wind from the boat was much appreciated. View was lovely. I took quite a number of pics from the boat.

Kids enjoyed it. At our only stop after the boat turn around, we didn’t walk all the way to Grand Palace bocs the kids were already restless due to the hot sun. Stopped by at their day market for drinks and more local fruits buying. This time mangosteen again and rambutan. Before that we already bought some fruits from hawker at the road side. Pineapple for me and mangoes for angah. It were served wt sugar and salt. Delicious. Everywhere around us, the locals were wearing yellow shirts. At first we thought they worked with the tourism company or maybe from the temple but they were too many ppl wearing yellow. Then we were told something like the working people are encourage to wear yellow on Monday bcos the King was born on Monday (something like that).

Experienced Bangkok’s Sky Train when we hopped into one from Sampan Taksin station to Siam to go again to MBK. I’ve decided to search again for my 199baht handbag shop. He!he! Been thinking about it all nite long. Couldn’t find the shop we decided to look for lunch instead. Found a newly open international foodcourt on the 5th floor. Yeah… we found Arab food by Ali. There were a few Malay families too eating. We continued the search of my handbag shop and found it!! I bought two beautiful but cheap handbags. Thought of window shopping more since today is the last day we will be at shopping mall but Danial was already in his cracky mood. After his crying was ignored, he tried another trick sitting on the floor without moving unless his being carried. This happened before when we were there yesterday and bcos he refused his dad, so I have to carry him. God, my back!! This continue until he calmed down and Angah took over. Don’t want the same scenario to repeat again so we got into the taxi and went back to the hotel.

That evening we decided to go to Pat Pong nite market with the kids to the horror of the hotel staffs. Told us it is not advisable to bring kids there and we were advised to go to Sin Lum Night Market instead which was really not too bad at all. Bought some last minute pashminas for souvenirs, t shirt again for the kids and my 2nd pair or army pants along with a khaki coloured t-shirt which has the word ARMY printed on it. We sat for supper at their big open-air foodcourt where we found again Arab food.
I can go on forever bcos we only covered ¼ of the place only but the kids were already sleepy but basically I already found what I wanted.

End of day 3. To be continued.
