Golden eye

It's Monday and I'm on MC. It's my eye. My left eye to be precise.

The discomfort started on Sunday. We took the children out to watch Kungfu Panda. It was our second attempt bcos we did go on Saturday evening but tickets were sold out. So we bought in advance for Sunday show at noon. On our way in the car, I found the sun too glaring and my eyes were painful. I thought it was bcos I had a late night on Friday and my head haven't fully recovered, but that was 2 nites ago!! Hmmm.. anyways my eyes condition didn't improve when I went out again in the afternoon to get my hair cut. Every time I hit the outdoor, a sharp pain hit my eyes and I had to close my eyes. That does it, maybe I am really lack of sleep, I thought. I took the eye drops and sleep. Woke up at 7pm with tears blinding me. I knew something was up. Either it's an eye infection or I had accidentally hurt it bcos it does felt like a scratch somewhere in the eye.

Woke up this morning with the same symptom. The left eye was not that red to be the usual conjunctivitis but instead it was a bit swollen, painful especially when expose to light, any light and tears are pouring from it. I had to patch it with tissue, like a pirate. GP confirmed I had a foreign particle in my left eye and referred me to an opthamologist. 2 hrs later, at a specialist center the eye expert said I have a corneal ulcer which may be due by a viral infection caused maybe by my disposable contact lenses. Bummer!

My hubby took half day emergency leave bcos he needs to drive me around. I cant wear my contact lenses, I cant wear my glasses either in the car bcos the sunlight hurt so much, so I wear my dark sunglasses which has no power with the left eye covered with tissue to ensure that it's close bcos it hurt so much. That left me with one blur right eye to depend on.

Doctor prescribed me with 2 types of antibiotic drops to be use alternately every 2 hours and eye drops. She wants to see me again on Wed afternoon and gave me 3 days MC which I reduced to 2 days. I figure I'll go to work on Wed and take half day leave for the appointment.

So what can I do? I'm tired of sleeping. Neither can I read too long bcos it strain the eye nor watch TV more than an hour and I have to log off soon from this laptop bcos it's almost an hour now. I already run out of options.

So moral of the story, take care of your precious eyes.

I need to wait for the sun to set before I can drive my sun to his tuition afterwards.
