I'm backkk...!!!

First and foremost I would like to apologies for not updating my blog for almost 2 weeks!! It has been such hectic weeks and not to mention a super duper fun one. My family and I just got back (yesterday evening) from our 1 week vacation to Gold Coast Australia. I brought my laptop with me but fail to find the time to find a wifi area or if I do the laptop is left at the hotel. Prior to leaving for GC I was busy with office work and last minute travel preparation till the last minute before we boarded the flight.
Thank you to everyone who visited and leaving comments in my blog when I was MIA (missing in action) :) I'm truly grateful.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas. Hope everyone had a joyful one. My family had a fantastic holiday in the sunshine state and that experience and our travel pictures and videos will be share hopefully soon when I sort out all the chaotic scene of dirty laundry and unpacking.

Have a good weekend my friends and enjoy the last weekend of 2008.

Yin wei ni ai wo by Joanna Wang

It means as love begins to mend
Further to my previous post, I fell in love with this singer voice after hearing her songs in a Taiwan series. I found out that she just released an album and its in English! But I usually dont care in what language a song is, bcos I can enjoy it nonetheless. The disadvantage of that however is that I wont be able to sing along to it. This is another song by Joanna whom is being likened to Norah Jones of Taiwan. I found the track in English but I prefer the Chinese version bcos that was the version I heard the first time. The song is soulful and suits her voice which is not too deep. Enjoy.

My Wayward Keating

I've just finished watching the last episode of this Taiwan drama called My Wayward Keating. But I must confessed that out of 20 episodes, I only managed to catch maybe around 9 episodes on and off. I dont usually fancy chinese drama but this one ... well it's kinda .. fresh. I like the laidback storyline and acting. It's like one of those indie movies or drama (if there is any such genre under series). Reminds me of Malaysian own 'Kami'. Another factor that kept pulling me was the soundtracks. I can't hardly wait to share my new discovery. But that have to wait for another post ok? Meanwhile, do enjoy one of the track in the drama called You Ni De Kuai Le or Lost in Paradise by Joanna Wang.

Rain vs rain (and the latter won)

The TV was on KBS channel. I was watching Music Bank, a Korean music show. Rain was schedule to make a performance. Alas, it rained heavily. The TV screen went black except for the message 'services currently not available'. So much for satellite TV!! Who am I to complain? I work there #$%@^ ??hmmmm...??
Oh well, sleep beckons me.

Beserah Beach, Kuantan

2 weeks ago the official 7 weeks school break started. Since hubby will be away almost every weekend in late Nov and Dec so we thought we brought the kids for an early getaway. So we made a quick or rather last minute arrangement to bring them to the East coast, Kuantan. Since it was the first weekend of the school break so most of the touristy place was 'empty' still. So we sort of have the resort pretty much to ourselves. The boys enjoyed the beach very much.
We had dinner at the famous Pak Su Seafood restaurant. Food not only delicious but reasonably priced too (you cant get such price in KL well, maybe in Kuala Selangor) mmm... heaven!

Rainism - the 5th album

When Rain's Love Story video clip appeared in Channel V and MTV some 3 weeks ago, I was bombarded with questions like 'why is he so thin?, why the hair like that, have you seen it?, what do you think of the new songs?' etc. Like I'm a spoke person for him or something in the office. But okay being unofficially the most crazy person over Rain (at least in the office), I accept the challenges and answer such quiries diligently. But there are actually many new videos on his new album but Channel V/MTV only showed one so I'm subjected to answering the same question over and over again, everytime someone come across the music video on the TV screens and mind you there are MANY tv screens in my office. *sigh* but secretly ... I'm enjoying the limelight ha! ha! ^_^
I got the album last week and lucky for my youngest son that school break is here or he has to put up with me playing the CD over and over again in the car whenever I send him to school (those were my hubby's remark) which is very true! :)
Below is the sample of his new songs. Most of his video clips are not out yet but he performed in a few award and TV shows recently. The thing about Rain is that he is such a talented dancer that I really prefer 'seeing' him in action compare to just listening to his music especially those fast number. So enjoy.

Talking in Bed by Antonya Nelson

This is one of those 'clever' book which analyse human emotions, feelings and thoughts until it paralyses you, well at least me. Clearly this is not my type of book. The book reminds me of 'This much I know is true' book. Storyline definitely typical NOT. I can't help but thinking about the Oprah show where sometimes you seen the issue or problem brought forward for the day makes you go like 'these people have too much time on their hands' to worry/dwell upon these kinds of human emotion or unsolve problem they call it. For the rest of us, normal, ordinary folks -who doesnt has the luxury of time to search deep within you, we would just go c'mon, snap out of it and get on with life!!

Kindergarden Musical

Danial my 6 year old, graduated from kindergarden last Saturday. Next year he will be in Primary One. He refused to disclose anything to us before the concert night that all of us were literally clueless of what he will be performing that night. Turned out that he participated in 2 dances. We really enjoyed ourselves at the concert which ended at 10pm. This is part one of his concert night.

1 Minute 1 Second by Epik High

I first heard this song bout 3 weeks ago on one of the Korean public radio station. Cant get it out of my head since. Its a fusion of hip hop and dare I say ballad? Ha! Ha! I'm not an expert in melody. All I know is I like the song especially the chorus- kinda catchy. Thanks to a video with a subtitle, now I understand the lyrics more (not that it ever matter to me). Most foreign songs I enjoyed, I dont even understand a single word. This is a good one from Epik High - enjoy.

Fridge magnet (85) - Cebu

Lucky hubby got back from his Cebu trip last Sunday evening. Amongst his extra luggage was a Phillipine made guitar which he bought. So he's been practising most of the night and I'm being serenade with guitar strum every nite before I fell asleep ^_^

from page 552

My sleep was interrupted at 0200hr. My eldest son has a headache. After attending to his needs, I found myself still awake at 0300hr and now my worry about unsolve issues at work has dominate my mind hence deprive me of any peaceful slumber. So I gave up of trying to sleep.

In my last post, I mentioned about this poem/passage I read in the book called 'September' that I want to share. So here it is:

Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a neglible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.
excerpt from September by Rosamunde Pilcher

I went to my late brother-in-law's 'kenduri tahlil'(extension of doa/prayers for the deceased, done in congregation) organized by my sis-in-law. This time around only the women were invited. After the session ended, my sis-in law shared her gratitude to all who were present especially to her parents, friends and neighbours and there were no dry eyes when she hugged her mother in tears of gratitude of still having her in her times of need.

September by Rosamunde Pilcher

I managed to get myself feel kinda depressed tonite on a Saturday evening. My two sons had knocked off early around 8:30pm right after dinner. Danish had a fever which was passed by his younger brother Danial - who had it earlier and was off from kindergarden on Thursday and Friday. Hub is currently in Philippines and will only be back tomorrow night.
I dont feel like surfing the internet nor the TV channels. I cant force myself to sleep since I just had a mug of coffee so I do what I do best - read. And managed to finish the last few chapters of 'September'.
This is the type of book which you take to your favourite coffee outlet or any of your favourite place to unwind (preferably somewhere cold and comfy), tuck your feet under you and enjoy the book. Lovely.
At first I was quite lost since there were many characters in it, but you soon get used to them and their contribution to the story plot. The book let me unwind and best of all I can clearly picture the majestic, cold, beautiful land of Scotland in its passage.
There was a paragraph/poem in the book which made me think about my recently departed brother in law (exactly 1 week ago), but I think I will share this in the next post. Peace to all.

In memory

Our brother in-law succumbed to Thalassemia illness in the wee morning on Nov 2, 2008 (4 years after he was first diagnosed).
Words can't describe the lost and sadness that all of us felt especially the pain of losing a husband and a father that his wife and 2 children of 12 and 10 years old have to endure.
We will never forget you. Your kind words, your knowledge in sports, your wisdom in gardening and your creativity in home decorating will always inspire and remembered by all of us. We miss you. May Allah bless you always. Al Fatihah.

ps/My family received the sad news around 5am in the morning. Unfortunately, we were 4hrs away from KL attending hubby's company function. We left the hotel in a rush at around 0630am but still we couldn't make in time for his burial. Our last memory of 'arwah' was during last raya (exactly last month).

Kamsahamnida (Thank you) - K drama

A while back I finished watching the last episode of the said K drama. Between the raya leaves, I only managed to catch about the last 10 episodes on telly and the rest from YouTube. Without subtitling (on YT)and with very limited Korean vocabs - I understood the story just by looking at their body language. Hah!! As if ... LOL (but that's what I told hubby when he saw me watching without the English subs)
Apparently my Kak Long (eldest sis in law aka Queen of K Drama with original DVD collection to boot) already watched it and she gave her stamp of approval on this one too.
I like this one bcos the main actor character stay true to his original profession althou' he no longer practise professionally. For those not in the know, K drama characters often tend to forgo completely their past lives usually after they experienced some life threatening/changing situation. First episode is usually crucial bcos the time difference between the 1st and 2nd episodes can go between 2-5 years! The main actors usually become a different person altogether by 2nd episode!
Anyways not this one. The main actor stick to being a corky, intelligent, dangerous and kind hearted (in his own way) doctor thru-out (and handsome too :)

So here's a snippet. Except for the main actress (who played with Rain in Sangdoo go to School), I dont know anybody else.

And what is korean drama without the song? Yes, I love the song too.

Idul Fitri 08 in pictures

Managed to finish this last weekend. Memories of the recent raya. Everyone in their best attire except hubby who left his newly bought 'baju melayu' at home so had to borrow one (top only) from my father in law. He finally able to show off his new purple 'baju melayu' during his office raya gathering (not in pic).

Overloaded

Yeah, I know I havent been blogging enough. I am sick on every weekend. What a bummer! It's like I channeled all my energy at work place from Mon-Fri and it will takes it toll come Saturday. No, make that Friday evening where everywhere hurts. So far I've been to the clinic three times on three weekends! And today, I'm coughing badly and I already lost my voice since yesterday. I have a guest at work from Jakarta (which I dont even know I have until at the very last minute approx. 2hrs before I met him) which I have to entertain on Thursday. After briefing him about the unit and our workflow (Jakarta wants to adapt our system)for about 1.5hrs -I finally lost my voice, grrreat!!
One of my 3 months employed staff, resigned early of this month. She cant take the workload and mental pressure. So we are understaff. I received substantial number of resumes from internal staffs to take over her place but I'm not too keen in making haste decision to replace her simply bcos I really want to get the right candidate this time. So meanwhile my current workload suffers bcos I breakout the job scope into two and devide it between me and another staff.
My eldest son Danish, will be sitting for his finals next week. So when you came back from work half dead, cant even open your eyes bcos you've been staring at the computer almost 11hrs (yeah, nowadays I dont even go for lunch) but you know you have to still use the balance of willpower to go thru his revision books (dictating what to go thru, revise and what not) but I always am not able to keep my side of the bargain which is to make sure I mark his work on time bcos I always fell asleep. It's not easy to mark school work done by a Standard Four student nowadays you know. Especially the BM and Science lessons. It requires full brain juice which most of the time especially in these few weeks - mine had already reach its Empty level by the time I reach home. Poor boy!
The family had several raya open house invitations over the past weeks and so far we managed to go to 3 out of 6. My office alone had 3 different functions yesterday and I only could make time for one. Last night, my family went to another open house hosted by an old friend of mine. I dont feel like hassling the host to provide me with warm water since she was quite busy entertaining her other guests as well, so I drank the cold orange juice provided. And since last night, I've been coughing non-stop. Oh well...

Abby and her Sisters by Melanie Bellah

This is memoir of a mother about her daughters. She lost not one but two daughters!! In a span of three years. She lost her eldest thru suicide and her third daughter Abby (title of the book)thru auto mobile accident.
The book is a collection of her daughter's Abby journal. It's about how she endure the demise of her eldest sister Tammy and her daily thoughts about life, family, friends, boys and school. Her journal called Magi (Japanese name) reminded me of mine when I was at her age. Mine is called Cassandra after a spider with the same name in a book I read.
Other than that similarity I dont enjoy the book more mainly bcos of its ... font. Whenever the passage switch from the narrator (whom is the mother) to the journal it changed into this awful, boring, serious, whatever font. To make matter worst, the transition is not smooth so I sometime got lost bcos I'm not quite sure who said what was it the mother or Abby.
It took quite some time for me to finish the book, even my hubs notice. He would go like 'still on the same book? must be not interesting'
But I finished it. So on to the next book.

300ml of AB+

It was the first day of work after my 1 week leave. 437 emails uncleared! Okay need to attend to that 1st. Oouch! My back hurts since last 2 nights. Now its worsen. A reminder pops up, blood donation? Today of all day? But a lot of staffs are not back yet from their raya leave? ohh well.. okay got to go for that one too. Wait, you need to have proper breakfast 1st before they allow you to donate your blood. I guess after the 1 month fasting I totally forgot about breakfast in the office. Luckily I have my 3in1 nestum cereal with me. This will have to do. After a quick gulp, I ran down to the lobby. As suspected, turn up was not good compare to previous event bcos many staffs are still on leave. This will be my second time in 2008. The last one was in March. Interval should be at least 5 months. After ticking NO to all diseases, multiple sex partners, tatooing and piercing columns and YES to 'have you had breakfast' and 'good 8hrs sleep' questions in the donation form (actually I slept at 1230am courtesy of kdrama on u tube and woke up at 0530am), I que to have my finger poked for iron test. The doctor asked me to stand on the scale to ensure that my weight is actually reach the authorize level which is 50kg and above which I verbally confirm but still she insist. Ooohh..I'm flattered. I somehow appear thin to her. I must be getting very good in masking all this fat in my body LOL So I'm cleared to donate 300ml of AB+.

Eid Mubarak 08 -Maaf Zahir Batin

My family made it safely last night from our hometown back to our house in KL at wee hours of 0100am. As usual, the rest of the family were fast asleep except for hubby who drove all 3.5hrs long. The one week holiday is now at its end. But it was a good raya celebration for all of us. I think I didn't over eat during the raya. Hope I thought right lol. Tomorrow is work and school as usual. But Aidil Fitri celebration will continue for the whole month of Syawal (approx till end of Oct). So open house invitations are aplenty from relatives and friends.

Thank you to all who dropped by while I was away. Below is a video which was taken on the first day of raya at my in-laws place filled with nieces and nephews & brothers and sisters in law. It was a perfect family scene :-). Peace to all.

A week long holiday

Its the starting of a week long holiday for me and family as we celebrate the approaching of Eid Ul Fitr(Aidil Fitri known locally) to mark the end of Ramadhan (fasting month). Although the official dates are not until Oct 1 but me and hubby took several leave days so our family get to 'balik kampong'-drive back to our hometowns. My children are ecstatic. They can hardly wait to meet up with their cousins, play their fire crackers, wear their newly bought baju melayu (traditional Malay male garments) and of cos collect duit raya (token sum of money) from extra generous elders (usually parents, relatives, grand parents and family friends).

Once I'm there it's quite hard to guess when I will be able to get access to the internet. But sometime me and my other fellow cannot-live-without-our-usual-dose-of-www partners in crime (usually my cool brother in-laws) will make our way to the nearest free wifi mamak stall and buy ourselves a cup of tea and sit there for hours to use the internet.

But if that doesnt happen, so this is sayonara for about a week. I see everyone maybe after Oct 4. Till then Maaf Zahir Batin (pardon my physical and emotional wrongdoings), take care and peace to everyone.

One day I saw this stuck on my house fridge. Wait a minute, where does this come from?? So I've learned that hubby's friend when to Ceylon or Sri Lanka as we know it here and got us the fridge magnet. Isnt it unique and beautiful? It somehow reminds me of Bali too. Nevetheless,
thank youuu hubby's friend!

Moon River by Frank Sinatra

I was listening to a newly bought compilation of jazz tunes cd when a song alone again (naturally) struck a chord to me. After googling to it, I was horrified to learn its lyric. I mean the tune and song is wonderful but the lyrics was so sad and depressing and I decided to let it pass. Then I came upon Sinatra's Moon River. I posted Fly Me to the Moon before and this is equally a haunting tune ... in a good way. This MAN is so talented. They dont make songs like this anymore *sigh* Ohh this is soo romantic! Pls take your time. Enjoy this.

Its the weekend

It has been a brutal week ..... at work that is. Its the 1st draft submission of our FY10 budget and all other deadlines must be within the week in anticipation of the long festive holidays to come. On top of that, when your big boss has to meet his big boss for the Q2 update, YOU will die standing! Its
'see if you can get me this report say from year 2006 to now and I want it before 4pm today', 'and your forward planner for 2009 is ready right?', 'I'm planning to revamp our pool of vehicles from say petrol to NGV, do a proposal and let me see it'. What do you mean the cost centre is not under you? It's okay just do it, and I will let you incharge of the cost centre from now on and I want it say in 2 weeks time?
And on top of it all, its one meeting after another.
For the whole month of Ramadhan, our HR policy allows muslims staffs to leave the office early at 4:30pm from the usual 6:00pm provided they clock in by 8:30am (usual hr is at 9am) and work thru lunch. I have yet to leave the office at 4:30pm although I clocked in at 8am and lately I found myself at the office by 7:10am and leave at quarter to 6:00pm! But i guess this is better bcos on normal days I usually leave at 7pm. So after the break of fast at 7:15pm, I'm usually a dead meat by 9:30pm only to wake at 4:30am to finish whatever leftover assignment before the pre-dawn meal called sahur with the family at 5:05am.
So yes, I am very greatful and thankful for this short break of weekend. Until it start all over again on Monday.
Wish everyone a blessed Ramadhan.

Midnight in the garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt

"Chablis? That's pretty, " I said. "What's your full name?"

"The Lady of Chablis, I'm a show girl. My mama got the name Chablis off a wine bottle".

"A cool white wine for a cool black girl, " I said.

"What's was your name before that?" I asked.

"Frank," she said.

I finished the last 4 chapters reading from 0540hr this morning. The book is soo intriguing! Its characters are eccentric. I love it. It's like reading a detailed, larger than life tourist brochure on the city of Savannah, its landmarks, its cemeteries and its people ... definitely its colorful people who gave the book its characters. I found myself sharing the details of its characters with my colleague everytime I finished a chapter bcos many of it was just too fascinating. Three names that kept popping out from the pages amongst it many, many interesting personalities are Jim Williams, Danny Hansford and of cos' Chablis. I think part of my fascinating of the book is bcos it is a non-fiction. Yes, all the characters really exist. That adds to the wow factor for me. So much so that it prompted me to google Savannah map and identify all it towns featured in the book and Wikipedia (ing) the landmarks. I'm glad I did that after I read the book bcos it would spoil the thrill of the murder trial featured in the book. I guess the bizarreness of the events described in the book gave true meaning to the phrase 'fact is stranger than fiction'.

I also learned that I am 17 years behind when THE book (famously known as) hit the bookstore in 1994. It has been in New York Times best seller list for 3 years and became sensational again in 1997 when Clint Eastwood turned it into a movie. I know that not all book can turn into a good movie in this case THE movie but guess what, it has Jude Law as Danny Hansford!! That's enough for me lol. But the movie boast other star cast as well, Kevin Spacey as Jim Williams and Lady Chablis as herself. Come to think of it, I remembered watching a snippet of the movie bcos I received a text from a friend saying Jude Law on one of the channel in an almost black and white movie. I turned on the channel saw him but was too sleepy to watch. Oh now I definitely have to scan the TV guide for a rerun.

Now back to my interrupted sleep.

Paper, ink and glue

It was a hot Sunday afternoon in the fasting month and I'd asked my husband to bring me to the books clearance sale. To my delight, he agreed! But when we reached there I knew he regretted his decision. There were rows and rows of books and there I was like a kid let loose in a toy shop without adults supervision! But I did behave. Yes sir I did. Mainly bcos the kids were with us and within ten minutes they were already restless. Even after their father took them to tour the whole place, just so that their mother had the time to browse around. Since I dont have much time so I just took which ever book that caught my eye. In total I got myself 6books with an unbelievable cheap price and I'm over the moon. Can't hardly wait to get my hands on them.
In the car my husband said, but you still havent read the book I got for you last month, the one with 1088 pages? And you bought more books? Don't worry, I'll make time for it. You know I will, was my reply. And at the back of the car, my children were already jumping up and down 'so can we go and buy food now?'

"When you sell a man a book,
you don't sell him 12 ounces of
paper and ink and glue-
you sell him a whole new life

Soran Bushi Traditional Japanese dance

I caught this video quite sometime ago. At that time, I didnt know anything about the dance. All I know was the song-music accompanying the dance was very catchy. It stayed in my head and my children's too, long after we left the mall bcos we kept humming the tune even on the next day.

So now I know that Suran Bushi(the name of the dance) is a traditional japanese dance. It's got to do with the fishing community. In the next video, you can clearly see the dance movement has a lot to do with the capturing of fish by fisherman. A better representation of the dance compare to my limited video. Must try to catch the live performance if I ever bump into one. I must say the dance provides a good workout for the dancers. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday to Danish

My eldest son Danish turned 10 today. Being the second day of Ramadhan (holy fasting month for Muslims) we didnt take him out to celebrate. We did however had an earlier celebration last weekend since we know that his birthday will fall on fasting day. Nevertheless today, we did buy him an ice cream cake to be eaten after the breaking of fast. It supposed to be a surprise for him but the younger brother was too excited and blurted out that we had bought an ice cream cake and it's hiding in the fridge.

Beyond the sea by Robbie Williams

I'm so embarassed to confess that I've just only ... watched Finding Nemo. I know, I know!! But the thing is I always thought I 've seen the movie before. Hmm .. Anyways, more importantly I heard this song at the end of the movie and being a fan of oldies, it didnt go unnoticed. Somehow the song sound very familiar? Then it dawned on me that I have the French version of it in my mobile phone. The one called La Mer. It was a double thrill for me when I learned that the movie version was sang by Robbie. Oh, this is such a catchy tune and a wonderful song. Do listen to it. Enjoy!

Fridge magnet (83) - Chicago

A friend who was an ex-colleague recently got back from Chicago for a training. She shared many of her photos with me by emailing it to me after several attempts asking me to join Facebook failed lol. One of the photo showing she and several new colleagues riding a Hummer limo!!! Huge thing!
We were suppose to meet up for coffee but just couldnt find the time or rather ... I was the one who couldnt find the right time. Anyways she met another colleague of mine and passed me the little souvenir she got for me. Oooh I like it very much. Now I really feel bad for not being able to receive it personally from her.
Thank you dear (yes, I know I owe you coffee)

A day at MAHA 2008

The whole family went to MAHA 2008 yesterday. It's short for Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and AgroTourism Show 2008. My goodness, the exhibition was hugeee!! We didnt cover the whole place of cos. But we did took the tram twice which managed to cover all the different locations. Nevertheless, the place was still crowded with millions of other people since it was the last day of the expo. On top of that, it was really a HOT day. So walking, even a short distant proved to be very difficult for all the males in my family including hubby. We just missed the Rodeo show at
1100, where they had Aussie cowboys showing off their skills.

My intention to the expo was to introduced some of the different breed of livestocks to my urban living boys. True enough, my boys were like seeing exotic animals in the zoo for the first time even thou it were only cattle and goats. My eldest saw a bull and asked me, 'ma what's that huge thing hanging out from the bull'? what's else would it be, I asked him?? its testicles of cos! and his mouth formed this huge O in disbelief. I had a fun time explaining the different breed of cattle and where it originated from compare to our local breed.

We were rushing to buy some fruits towards our exit, when the wind became stronger. We didnt made it to the parking lot when a heavy downpour started. We took cover at one of the stall selling fried currypuffs. 25 minutes later, almost soaking wet, we managed to made our way to the car.

Althou' my husband doesnt share the same enthusiasm, but I'm glad the boys learnt about the livestocks. It was indeed tiring but to me it was worth it.

Memory Keepers Daughter - Kim Edwards

I finally finished reading this book. And it was so painfully hard. Until now, I still couldnt pin point why I dont like the book. I mean most of its reviews said otherwise. I tried to be open to what is it that makes the book so appealing to many readers. Tried to sympatise with at least one of the main characters Dr Henry or Norah or Christine and even Paul. Each of them with their own 'little' secrets. But alas, I can't. I simply don't enjoy the book. Period.

Breakfast at the beach

My family returned from our short vacation to our hometown yesterday night. I slept thruout the journey and poor hubby drived all the way. I didnt do much of anything during this short break especially 2 days towards the end at my parents place. On Monday it rained the whole day starting from 03:00am and lasted till 4:00pm in the afternoon. So all I did was read my book, watch the Olympics and sleep. On Tuesday our last day, the boys were pestering us to take them to the Kuala Senangin beach at my parents place so we decided to have breakfast there. So I packed the food plus we stopped at one of these very small shop or gerai known in Malay to buy more home cooked food and off we went. Kuala Senangin at present is still very much a sleepy fisherman beach. Being a weekday, we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves. The boys had so much fun. At first, we dont allow them to swim, just play with the sand but they somehow get themselves wet and at the end -why bother saying no?!?

After 4 lazy days I had to drag myself to go to work today :-(

HSM Ice Tour

Received complimentary tickets from Disney to see High School Musical Ice Tour last night. Being the last school day before the mid semester break starts, so my kids were very excited. Althou my eldest actually thot he got to see the actual casts and I had to explain to him, what's this show all about and who are the actors. Nevertheless we enjoyed it very much. Even hubby who was very reluctant to go initially but at the end it looked like we the adults enjoyed it most!! ^_^ Thou hubby actually wants to see Vanessa Hudgens and me Zac Efron lol.

We are bringing the boys to visit their grandparents from both sides for the next 4 days to come. I'm taking this chance to unwind. Maybe catch up on the Olympic games. My cough has developed full scale now. Coughing like mad.
